There is always more to know and learn when it comes to walking by faith. That is essentially what Christianity is, learning how to improve our faith in God, which never ends! So, I am writing this guide to give more tips on improving our walk in faith!

Remember to Check In!

An essential thing to do while walking by faith is to check in with God! We cannot walk by faith if we don’t know what God wants. Because only doing what we want is walking by sight, and we walk by faith, not by sight! Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” So, in everything we do, we are supposed to acknowledge and ask God. Don’t go your whole day without asking God, “Hey should I do this?” or “What should I do in this situation.” God appreciates that you are humble enough to ask for guidance and trust His advice. God will always give us advice that aligns with His will, which, as a result, will prosper us! God only tells us things that are good for us and will move us forward, so it’s wise to ask God and acknowledge Him in all your ways! God is quick to give you an answer because He wants the best outcome for you, and following His advice always leads to the best results. So, don’t forget to check in with God every day about your situation so it can have the best outcome! If you don’t check in, you risk worsening your situation and causing unneeded stress.

Get Some Scriptures

Walking by faith is nothing if you don’t have the Bible backing you up! There is a verse for everything! Healing, finances, stress, anxiety, depression, laziness, there is a verse to combat every situation you’re going through! And if you ask God, He will lead you to it! You can also google “Bible verses for anxiety,” and there are tons of sources that will lead to the right scriptures! When you bring God’s Word into a situation, you’ve won! Why? Because Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” God’s Word accomplishes what He pleases! He sent His Word to heal, relieve stress, and bring joy, happiness, peace, and prosperity! So, once you bring the Word of God into your situation, it’s guaranteed to work out! God honors His Word and never allows it to fail! So, open your Bible and get to reading! Reading the Bible isn’t just some nighttime routine; it is life! The Bible is the lifeline of our faith, and we cannot walk by faith without it! Do not forsake time spent in the Word; it will give you everything you need in life and more! Get some scriptures regarding your situation, and speak them daily! God is going to come through when it involves His Word.

Obey God, No Matter How Scary It Looks!

Once God has told us what to do, and we have scriptures backing us up, it is our job to live by God’s Word! Obeying God is how you get to where you want to be. You can have all the scriptures you want and all the instructions from God, but if you never act on them, it’s useless. For instance, you can have a car and a tank full of gas, but the car is useless if you never put the key in the ignition and drive. So, that is what your actions are; you are driving the car! Sometimes, doing what God tells us is scary, but we must understand that it will work out in our favor because it’s from God! So you must step out and do what God told you; it is always for your benefit. God will always tell us something that is for our good, so you know the outcome will be victorious. Also, II Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” We aren’t supposed to fear but have 100% trust in God and His plan! You cannot walk by faith if you are afraid. So do what God says and do it with all confidence that He will come through on your behalf! Because He will! In doing what God told us, we have blessings laid up for us; Luke 11:28 says, “Blessed (happy and to be envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it!”. So, every time you obey and practice the Word of God, just know you are getting blessed and rewarded!

Remain in Joy

The sign of true faith is joy! Joy is evidence that we 100% trust God’s plan for us! Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength,” We are strongest when we have full faith in God’s plan. We must give no room to the enemy, and protecting yourself with joy is one way to ensure the enemy cannot get to you. Feeling discouraged and fearful about your situation is an open door to the enemy. And when you leave that door open, you are allowing doubt and unbelief to enter, which steals your faith, and makes it impossible for God to move in your life! You must remember God’s Word and stand on it! Psalm 16:11 says, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. [Acts 2:25-28, 31.]” Reading the Bible will bring about God’s presence, bringing joy! And why? Because when we feel joy, it is evidence that we trust God, and it is an assurance from God that He is working on our behalf! Sadness and fear indicate a lack of trust, and God cannot work in those conditions. So, if you’re believing for something big, check your joy concerning it. Do you get happy thinking of the end result? If not, check how much you trust God to perform! You don’t have real faith if you don’t have joy! Additionally, something that will help is giving God thanks for working on our behalf. If it’s healing, say, “Thank you, God, for healing me” if it’s finances, say, “Thank you, God, for increasing my finances and paying all my bills,” If it’s anxiety, say, “Thank you, God, for giving me peace!” and again find scriptures to back you up, and you’ll be joyful in no time!

Listen to People of Great Faith

I know for a fact that my faith always increases when I am listening to preaching about faith! Lately, I’ve been listening to sermons about the power of words and trying to say things God can work with rather than words the devil can work with! Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” It is actually really important to hear what other men and women of faith have to say about God’s Word. We can’t always just rely on our own interpretation. Yes, God gives us revelation, but He may use a certain man or woman to give us that revelation. It also takes humility to listen to what someone else has to say and realize and accept we don’t know it all. So, take some time to listen to the Word of God physically and have faith imparted to you so that your confidence and trust in God can increase! Some of the people I listen to are at higher levels of faith than I am, so when I listen to them, I feel the gift of faith being imparted to me. And sometimes, that’s why we need an impartation of faith! I suggest listening to teachings on faith for at least 30 minutes daily and see how it changes your view on your current situations.

Look Up

Il Corinthians 5:17 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” We are not meant to look at our current situations but to keep our eyes on God! This is essential when it comes to walking by faith! Also, Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” You cannot look up and down simultaneously, you must pick one, and I want you to pick God! This is the only way things will work out if you’re focused on God. The moment you take your eyes off God is the moment your situation will go downhill. We don’t have these commandments in the Bible for nothing; it is for our benefit to keep our attention on God. He knows what is best for you! When you focus on God, He blesses you! In Psalm 37:4 it says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” By staying focused on God, He sees that as us delighting in Him, so He will give us what we desire (as long as it aligns with His will). Remember, He loves you, and everything will work out for you if you keep your mind and eyes fixed on Him. Do not doubt; James 1:6-8, it says, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. A man who doubts receives nothing in faith and is unstable.” You cannot doubt; doubting is looking at your circumstances and trusting them over God. You will receive NOTHING if you do that, so it is for your benefit to trust God 100% and not to be tossed between your circumstances and God. Have faith, trust God, and believe in His power, His love for you, and that NOTHING is impossible for Him. Be encouraged and blessed!
