When it comes to faith, one of the most important things to do in order to stay grounded is to look at God’s character. Just examining God’s character and really getting to know the person you’re putting your trust in will help get rid of all the fear and doubt in your faith journey. So, I wanted to take a look at just how unique God’s character is so that you can have confidence in your faith journey.

There’s No One Like God

One thing you must understand about God is there is no one like Him. You can search high and low but you’ll never find anyone that can come close to the glory that is God. People try all of these other religions and spiritual practices trying to reach someone like God but they constantly fail because it’s impossible to find someone like God. Isaiah 40:18 says “To whom then will you liken God? or what likeness will you compare Him?”, God is so great, so powerful, that no one comes near Him. You simply cannot compare God to anything on this earth. People sometimes make the mistake of thinking they can get God’s results out of people and things that aren’t God. You can have all the money, all the houses, cars, and happiness in the world but it will never compare to what God can do for you. Because God can do for you what “eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, nor have entered into the heart of man” (I Corinthians 2:9). He can do “exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20).

So, don’t let your circumstances make you forget the kind of God you serve. Your God is “the greatness, the power, and the glory, the victory, the majesty, for all that is in heaven and in the earth is [His]”. (I Chronicles 29:11) So what does that mean for you? You’re His child, so you have access to that greatness, glory, victory, and majesty. You cannot expect defeat when you serve a God like that and have access to His glory. Furthermore, Isaiah 40:28 says that God is “the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth. Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable”. What you have to realize is just how powerful the God you serve is. Once you have a proper understanding of that, it’ll make it 10x easier to put your full trust in Him.

Faith is only scary when we doubt God, but when we take the time to see just how amazing He is, nothing will faze us in our faith walk. God is never too weary to work on your behalf, He understands everything you need and will work accordingly, and whatever God does is everlasting because He is everlasting. Whatever solution you get from man is temporary, but the solution you get from God will last. So don’t fear, because you serve the “I AM” (Exodus 3:14). The one who always will be and who has been, the never changing, everlasting, self-existing God. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so don’t forget that just because something didn’t go your way. When walking in faith, you have to constantly remind yourself of who God is and that there is no one like Him, so you don’t start looking for solutions elsewhere. Look to the God who gives the best solutions that no one else can!

God Is Faithful!

Walk with God

One thing about God, He is never going to forsake His children. Too many people fear because they think God isn’t going to come through. That He is gonna leave them where they are and they have to figure it out for themselves. However, that is a lie! When God brings us to one place, He continues to guide us to the next and it is not in God’s character to leave His children! Joshua 1:9 says “do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”. So, you have to stop with that fear of being left behind and alone. God got us every step of the way and has vowed to never leave us. The devil likes for us to believe that God is going to leave us so that we can look for other solutions that he knows will mess up our faith. You must be careful about that and watch out for ‘solutions’ that are actually setbacks. God is faithful and you must always remember that.

A great example of God’s faithfulness comes out of Psalm 89:33. God says about David, “Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail. My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. Once I have sworn by My holiness I will not lie to David”. God made a lot of promises to David and He swore to not break a single one, and He didn’t! So why would it be any different with you? God loves you just as much as He did David, so expect the same thing! Expect God to not allow His faithfulness to fail concerning you, to not break His covenant and His word to you. If God said something to you, it will come to pass! God doesn’t lie and God doesn’t change, so just because something didn’t work out the way you thought it would, it doesn’t mean God’s word is no longer valid. Stand on the word of God and His faithfulness and expect things to work out! God is too holy to allow His word to fail.

In Isaiah 55:11 God says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it”. That verse alone should let you know that God is not okay with His word failing. When God speaks, it is done! If something fails it is because of something you did, either you didn’t trust Him or you didn’t have full faith in Him, and God cannot work where there is no faith. An aspect of God’s character is that His Word never fails and He does not lie. You must know and understand that God’s word is the most powerful thing ever, He created this whole world with His words, built and destroyed kingdoms with His word, we can cast out demons with His Word, and so much more! So don’t doubt God’s voice or think that it’s not gonna come to pass. Remember, because of God’s faithfulness He will never leave you and will never allow His word to fail!

Nothing is Impossible with God

“I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”

Jeremiah 32:27

A great thing about God is that all things are possible with Him! There’s nothing you can ask in faith that God can’t do! Human resources and abilities are limited but God’s resources and abilities are unlimited! A very well-known verse is Mark 10:27 where it says, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible”, So never think that what you’re asking for is too big. Nothing is too big for God! The devil likes for us to think we’re asking for too much and that God would never help us with it, so that we can sulk in defeat, but that is a lie! God can do all things so don’t limit God to your thinking, think big! God loves when you think big because God wants to show off, He wants to let people know that He is the all-powerful, mighty God who can do all things! Some people will only come to Christ by signs and wonders, so God wants an opportunity to perform signs and wonders!

Don’t limit God because you’re scared, In Jeremiah 32:27, God says, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” And the answer is no! You must be reminded just how powerful God is! There is nothing out of His reach, so you asking Him to pay some bills, heal your body, give you a job, car, cure you of depression, etc. is all lightwork for Him! He isn’t struggling to make things happen for you, He can do it in an instant if you just believe Him! Stop limiting God and allow God to work according to His ability, that way you’ll see things work out for you left and right!

Don’t ever doubt God’s character! He is like no other, He is faithful, He will never leave you, and He can do all things if you believe! Fear doesn’t stand a chance when you stand on the character of God! This is the God you serve and He will never let you down so never forget that! Trust God and His amazing character and this faith walk will be a piece of cake!
