Trying to figure out your purpose in this life? Why am I even on Earth? Here are Biblical reasons for your existence and that God specifically created you for something great!
God Created You with Purpose!

In this life, it can be so easy to feel forgotten and useless, but God never intended us to feel that way. God was intentional when He created us, we’re not just beings floating on a rock, we are the Creator’s creation whom He loves very much. God can be likened to a potter because they both carefully tend and mold their art; shape it until it’s absolutely perfect in their eyes. So, even if you don’t view yourself as perfect, God does because He created you and everything He creates is beautiful and perfect. Ephesians 2:10 says, “for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” So, when you ask why am I here? There’s your answer, to walk in the good works that God created you for through Jesus. That is your purpose on this Earth, to do good works through the power of Jesus. Well, what are these good works? The good works are the gifts and talents God gave you. What are you naturally good at? What gets you excited and something you love to do? That’s an easy place to start, God gave us these gifts to basically return to Him. When I say return to Him, I mean God gave us gifts to glorify Him. For instance, I love to write, so I created this blog and it glorifies God by sharing His Word. So this is something I was created to do, I was created to write for God and bring Him glory through it, whether it be a blog, a book, or a movie script. So, sit on that question for a bit and think about how you can use your talents to glorify God.
Before Anything, God Knew You
“He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.”
Ephesians 1:4 NKJV
God knew exactly what He wanted you to do on this Earth before anything was created. God knew of your purpose and “prepared [it] beforehand.” So never say I have no purpose; you have a God-given purpose that He determined before you even took your first breath. In Galatians 1:15, Paul writes how God “separated [him] from [his] mother’s womb and called [him] through His grace, to reveal His Son in [him], that [he] might preach.” So God chose Paul before he was born to preach the gospel and the same goes for you. God chose you in your mother’s womb to do something great, to make an impact on this earth for Christ. Ephesians 1:4 says, “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.” So before God even had a planet for you to live on, He thought about you. God is thoughtful and intentional, you are here because God sees you as special and worthy. He wanted you here and created you with purpose, now it’s just your job to seek God’s face about what that purpose is.
How do I seek His Face?
How do I seek God’s face about my purpose? The answer is pretty simple, seek Him out through the Word and prayer. When you read the Bible, God will lead you to scriptures that speak to you, you just have to ask Him. I know when I’ve read the Bible, God will speak to me concerning my purpose and give me clarity on the direction I should go and He will do the same for you. I feel that prayer is the most important thing you can do concerning knowing your purpose because you can get personal with God about it. Some good prayer points for learning about your purpose are, ‘God reveal to me my gifts and talents so that I could use them to your glory’, ‘God direct me on the path I should go’, and the most simple one, ‘God what is my purpose? What am I supposed to do in this life?’ If you pray with a sincere heart, God will certainly answer these prayers and will put you on the path you need to be on. I hope this gave you confidence and clarity on your purpose! Know that God loves you and created you specifically for something great and to prosper! Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans that I have for you, not to harm you, but to prosper you, to give you a hope and a future.” Remember that today and God bless!
