Most Important Lessons Learned On My Faith Walk: Week 1

the-most-important-faith-lessons-i-learned-this-week

The most important faith lessons I learned this week! Everyone’s journey is different, and God uses people in different ways, so I wanted to share mine with you guys. To encourage you, lift you, and help you analyze and evaluate your own journey of faith! I learned a lot this week, and I am excited about what God has in store for me in the future! So, let’s get into the most important faith lessons I learned this week!

Faith Lesson I Learned: Obedience is Key!

This week was spring break for me, and I decided to lock in! Instead of going on a trip or spending my days partying, I wanted to put 110% into what God gave me to do. One of those things was to wake up at 6 or 7 am every morning. I was struggling with that heavily earlier in the month, but this week, I made it happen! And let me tell y’all, my days were a thousand times more productive, and I felt more accomplished! When God tells you to do something, it is for your benefit!

Luke 11:28 says,” Blessed (happy and to be envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it! “So, when you obey God’s Word, you are putting yourself in a position to be blessed! By waking up earlier, I’ve been able to spend more time with God by reading my word and praying. And let me tell you guys, the spiritual growth I’ve experienced today was insane! I feel that I am stronger in faith; I can stay more firm and expect and believe the promises of God! And that was all because I obeyed and woke up earlier.

God’s Word is Life

As I previously stated, the spiritual growth I’ve experienced this week was amazing, but it is all because of God’s Word. I’ve realized that the content I’ve put out on my socials was more spiritually insightful, and I’m so happy about how God has been able to speak through me! I posted my first YouTube video this week and have remained very active on all my social media accounts. God instructed me to take Refined for Christ seriously, like a job. When I took that commandment, I worked 8-10 hours per day just on everything that involved Refined for Christ. Now, my challenge next week is how to sustain that momentum and school.

When you read God’s word more, it is easier to obey. Jesus said in John 6:35, “I am the bread of life,” I noticed that many of the things I said in my content this week came from my personal morning time with God. So, if I didn’t take this daily bread, which is the Word of God, because Jesus is the bread of life, and the Word was God (John 1:1), I would’ve lacked a lot of knowledge I shared this week. Don’t forsake the Word. It changes your life. It changed me this week! Now, I know I won’t have anything of quality to share with you guys if I don’t stay in my Word and develop that secret place with God.

The Word Keeps You Grounded

Now, I do have my personal faith mountains and I am believing God for big things. Especially when it comes to this blog. Reading the Word of God has allowed me to be more stable in my faith. James 1:5-8 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him a k in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

Gods-Word-Keep-You-Grounded

This week, I have been talking a lot about the subject of prayer, and my YouTube video was about it. I had to watch that video at least five times, and it is a 46-minute video. However, it fed my spirit! Because I realized it wasn’t me; it was God speaking through me. So, despite my circumstances, I decided to stay in faith! This was all because I’ve been engulfing myself in the Word this week! I stood on God’s Word and continued to speak His promises because we walk by faith, not by sight! I value God’s Word over my circumstances because I refuse to be unstable.

Unwavering Faith

John 11:40 says, “Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God?” So, I decided this week I wouldn’t back off my faith. I was going to press through and believe regardless, which means I WILL see! This week, I questioned my current situation a lot with God, but He continued to encourage me that He is not a man that He should lie; His Word does not return to Him void. I’ve not spoken one word of unbelief, so I expect to see exactly what God promised me!

I feel as if I’ve never had faith this strong before. I know there is still room for improvement because you should always be growing in faith, but I feel as if I am entering into a place of unwavering faith that can move mountains! And it has made me excited about the things that God can do in my life! Just imagine what life could be like if you actually believed God! If you never doubted Him!

Able, Willing, and Wants to!

Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” If you seek God and believe He is able, willing, and wants to, it changes your whole perspective on faith. This is how I’ve been approaching God this week, and I know that He is able, willing, and wants to!

He is able; He has the power and capabilities to bring it to pass. God is willing; He is prepared and ready to bring it to pass. He wants to; He desires to bring it to pass. So, come to God, knowing that, and be confident! When you do that, it is guaranteed a blessing! You are guaranteed to get out of your situation and be above all the nations of the Earth! I would not have had this kind of confidence without the Word, so read that Word!

Faith Lesson I Learned: It’s Important to Stay Humble

This week, there were a few situations where I had to practice humility. I know every one of them was a test because God told me, verbatim, “Everything is a test; how do you handle the small things? When someone comments on Refined for Christ, do you get the glory, or do I? Do you easily back down when discouraging thoughts come? I am preparing you for leadership because if you can’t give Me the glory in the small things, how will you give me glory in the big things? How will you have faith in the big things if you lose faith in the little things?”

With every comment I received this week, I always made sure to say something along the lines of “Glory to God, Grateful to God,” etc., or even when they weren’t positive comments, to not give into my flesh and argue. Proverbs 26:4 5 says, “Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.” So, many times, God told me to let it go. If someone makes you upset, let it go. Don’t let it escalate to something bigger, and now you have to repent.

Cheer for Others

I’ve been believing God for social media growth because His word says, Proverbs 18:16 says, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men,” and Deuteronomy 28:12 says, “The LORD will open unto thee His good treasure the heaven to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand,” So, with those scriptures, I expect increase when I attach my plans to God. Additionally, Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. “

Earlier in the week, last week, I did not see the engagement I had hoped for. Despite putting quality work into my content this week and posting for SEO and the algorithm, I got minimal views. However, don’t despise the day of small beginnings. Despite what I saw, I never claimed low engagement; I continued to thank God for high engagement! When I saw videos with lots of likes and views, I cast down thoughts of envy and jealousy. Instead, I showed my brothers and sisters in Christ love by liking, commenting, and sharing.

Mini Testimony!

And you know what happened by the end of this week? Three videos I thought performed badly started getting hundreds of likes and thousands of views! I did not waver, and I did not fall into jealousy. I remained steadfast, and I saw God starting to answer my prayer. So, I am excited about Refined for Christ and being able to spread the Gospel on multiple platforms. God is doing a new thing: making roads in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Amen!

I gained more followers these past few days, and engagement is really increasing. As I’ve been saying, Mark 11:23 says, “You will have whatever you say.” By following that, I had only said things I wanted to happen. For last week, I can barely list the negative things I’ve said; I’ve just been standing on the Word of God! And when you do that, He comes through! When you believe, you will see, I’m just so grateful to God, not just for this, but for using me in a mighty way. Grateful to be able to share the Gospel and reach people.

A Woman Submits

In prayer last week, I was praying about my future husband and our plans. I am naturally a very independent person and always have my own! So, after my current lease, I expect to have enough to live on my own. And me being me, I was like, my husband can move in with me. God said immediately no, immediately no. So, another vital faith lesson I learned this week is to be humble and submit. Because a woman is to submit to her husband, I will have to give up wherever I’m living and move in with my man, per God’s orders.

I found this funny, too, because am I assuming my man isn’t going to have a place for me to move into once we’re married? I was basically calling him broke, like God would ever set me up with someone broke. However, that’s beside the point. I had to humble myself and submit to my husband before we are even together. So, little lessons like that, ladies, take you far. Though we might want things a certain way, we have to do things God’s way, and God’s way is a woman submitting to her husband.

Faith Lesson I Learned: Authority is Everything!

Last week, I was talking a lot about authority in Christ and how the devil is powerless. And oooo how the devil didn’t like that Authority is vital to the faith lessons I learned this week. I posted a couple of Instagram Reels about how to pray with the authority of Jesus, which will be on the blog this week. I also posted some videos on TikTok as well about it, going into spiritual authority. Mainly because I feel personally, that is something I am going to need to become more knowledgeable about. I believe God is taking me into full-time ministry, and this blog is only the start. So, as I continue to spread the Gospel without watering it down, I know I am positioning myself as a target for the enemy.

Some people may find that statement scary, but I don’t care. Though I need to know more about authority, one thing I do know is that the devil is defeated and powerless compared to a believer. Christ lives in us, and in Hebrews 2:8 says, “For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him.” God left nothing that isn’t under Christ, and Christ lives in us (Galatians 2:20), so everything is under my feet as well.

Dealing with Spiritual Warfare

The main reason why many Christians live defeated lives is that they don’t understand the power we have in Christ. Jesus destroyed all the power of the enemy. He put an end to the existence of the power of the devil, meaning he has absolutely noooo power. He only has power when we are dealing with him in the flesh, but in the Spirit, he is a loserrrrr. That is something you must realize and understand: “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” II Timothy 1:7. When it comes to the enemy, you can fight him boldly because you know Jesus Himself is backing you!

James 2:9 says, “You believe that there is one God. You do well, even the demons believe—and tremble!” Demons believe in Jesus, and they tremble, so use that name when you encounter the enemy. If you don’t know anything else, you know how to say the name of Jesus. The devil is defenseless, powerless, destroyed, and defeated; there is nothing to fret about. Be bold in the Holy Spirit and know that The Creator of the universe is on your side. Therefore, you are on the winning side!

Faith Lesson I Learned: Be Sensitive to the Spirit!

Listening closely to God was something really important when it came to the faith lessons I learned this week. God will always direct you as to where to go, either to bless you or keep you away from danger. Those are the main two reasons why God tells us to go or not to go places. So, I was volunteering for a music festival, and I signed up to help set up the day before. I did not want to go to set up because it was 12 pm-6 pm. I was like, God, wouldn’t it be so much better for me to stay home and work on the blog? He was like, no.

Psalm 95:7-8 says, “For he is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah,” When we hear God’s voice, instructing us, we must listen. We cannot harden our hearts and get into unbelief and disobedience. Meribah is where the children of Israel were upset with Moses because of the lack of water, and they refused to trust God.

All throughout the Old Testament, the children of Israel refused to fully trust God and where He was taking them. Which prolonged their journey but also prevented the majority of them from being able to enter the promised land. So, listen to God. It could be that He is opening a door to your promised land and a quick one, too!

An Opportunity

Though I didn’t want to go, I went to the set up for the music festival. God wasted no time, and I realized why I had to go. While there, I was able to connect with someone who is well-known in the industry I want to be in. Through that connection, we are now talking about working together. If I stayed home, I would’ve missed the opportunity to connect with him and have that open door to my career. I am very excited, and as the Lord allows me to, I’ll keep you guys updated!

God’s Favor!

Now, at the actual event, the person I connected with wanted me to take pictures and videos to send to him. He was the head of the media for the entire event, so it was pivotal that I did this. However, the organization I was volunteering with wanted me to scan tickets—all the way at the front of the event, where I wouldn’t have seen anything.

However, God’s favor allowed me to obtain a media pass, and I made my way to the front to take the videos I needed. God’s favor allows us to either avoid situations or place in situations that lead us toward the blessing. Since I was able to take videos and pictures, I could send them to the person who needed them. It was from sending the videos they said, let’s talk about working together.

Do Everything to the Glory of God

An important faith lesson I learned was to do everything to the glory of God. I made sure I took quality videos, even though all I had was my phone; I wanted to make an impression. To even be considered to work with him, I knew I couldn’t send lousy videos. Colossians 3: 3-24 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,”

When we do anything, we must put in 110% because we are working for God. You don’t know who will be touched by the work you put out. Also, you don’t know where your quality work will take you. Proverbs 18:16 says, “A man’s gift makes room for him And brings him before great men.” Your gift can only make room for you if it is of high quality.

I want you to take this as an opportunity not to slack off. No matter what it is, do it to the glory of God, to the best of your ability. God will use that as a point to elevate you, so everything you do, do it with greatness! It will open doors, so that is what I’m learning: putting a solid effort into everything I do!

Faith Lessons I Learned this Week

Those were the most important faith lessons I learned from March 17th-March 24th. I want to do this every week as a point to connect with my readers and hopefully inspire them. You are not alone in this; we have each other, and most importantly, we have God. If you have something that you learned this week in faith, let me know in the comments. I want to hear from you. I hope this helped, and God bless, until the next blog ;)!

If you want to know Jesus and have a relationship with Him, say this prayer: “Dear Heavenly Father, I repent of my sins and turn away from them. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day; I accept Him into my heart now, and I receive His forgiveness and washing away of my sins. I believe Jesus is Lord, and by faith, I give Him my whole life, heart, mind, and soul. Amen!” If you said this prayer, go to the I Just Got Saved page for church recommendations, a Bible, and a journal!

  1. This really blessed me, Jaime! The part about how God left nothing that was not under Jesus’ feet, so all things are under my feet!!! Amen!!

As for a faith lesson this week- just that the more you stay in the Word, the stronger your faith grows. And the things that used to knock you for a loop just don’t seem that big a deal anymore. Because you KNOW God’s got you.

    Thanks again Jaime!

    1. Amen! Grateful to God that I’ve been able to grow in His Word and be stronger! Grateful to God for you because you were my first exposure to God’s Word!
