Lessons Learned on My Faith Walk: Week 10

Lessons-Learned-On-My-Faith-Walk-Week-10

God got me through yet another week, and we’re back with lessons learned on my faith walk! This past week was interesting, and it was really a test of my faith because I was in a sticky situation. However, it taught me how to move forward with God and ask how to redirect my steps. So, let’s get into it!

God Doesn’t Fail

So, I haven’t had a regular job for the past seven months. For money, I’ve been doing a lot of side gigs, like content creation, selling shoes, and trusting God. People have sent me money, and I’ve gotten money from my school quite a few times, but this month was different. As I explained in the previous faith blog, I am taking summer classes, and if you take a certain amount of credits, you get financial aid. I am taking those amount of credits, however, it’s for two different terms. So, I won’t receive my money until the next term begins.

The refund I was going to get, I was planning on paying some bills… like my rent. So, June 1st was around the corner, and I had a negative $6 to my name. That’s what I was focused on the entire week; let me tell you, my rent was paid!! But I certainly learned something about my life and am taking steps to be better.

Immerse Yourself in the Word of God

Last week, I came across some wonderful materials regarding prosperity. When facing a challenge, it is up to you to immerse yourself in the word of God concerning it. Otherwise, you’ll never be free from bondage. I’ll be frank: I was tired of being broke, and if you’re like me, you know that being broke isn’t fun. And did you know that God never intended us to live that way? That He actually wants us to prosper? It’s just some of us like I was, don’t know how. I was lost on how to use the Word of God for finances. However, I’m learning now. I am not saying I’m filthy rich, but I want to be there so I can fund the kingdom of God during this end-time harvest and enjoy life overall. So, be prepared for many more testimonies as I immerse myself in God’s Word!

The resources I used were from Gloria Copeland and George Pearsons. I went on YouTube and watched at least 30 videos concerning prosperity and downloaded their notes. All week, I spoke the word of God over my finances, believing God to come through and do His part as I did mine!

Have Faith in the Trials

Now, fear did try to creep in, of course. It was a few days before rent was due, and still, there was not a dime to my name. However, we walk by faith, not by sight. We are not to look at our circumstances but to look to God. So, I praised God all weekend for my desired outcome. And when I say praise, I danced, laughed, cried, all of the above! Sometimes, walking by faith can look scary, but like I said, it’s not about what it looks like. You must keep your eyes on God; praise is a great way to do that!

That’s what I did this past weekend, and I didn’t allow what my circumstances looked like to hinder my faith. Sometimes, we can rely too much on what things look like, but that prevents us from ever seeing our desired outcome. You have victory when you ignore the natural and look to the supernatural. It can be difficult, especially if unbelievers surround you, but if you want to get to new levels with God, that is what is required.

Sometimes It Doesn’t Come How You Think

With all the faith I built up, I was sure I would get a check in the mail, an anonymous cash app, or Zelle for my rent, but no, that didn’t happen. My faith was there to receive it, but that’s not how God provided it, and that’s okay! My mom suggested asking someone I’ve never asked for money for my rent. So I did, but they didn’t want to pay for it, so I asked my dad. He gave it and quickly! So, I was grateful because he paid my rent, and I had that weight lifted off my shoulders!

Believe God to Prosper You in Your Next Steps

So, though I didn’t want to ask, God made a way! And I’m so happy that I got my rent. However, it taught me something about my next moves. I never wanted to be in a position where I had to ask again. I told God that I wanted it to be my money next time. So, I had to reevaluate some things. Should I go back into the traditional workforce? I asked God if I should get a retail job again, but He said no. One thing about God is that no matter what, He will give you something better.

Returning to retail would just be going backward, and we are going from glory to glory and faith to faith. So, He let me know that wasn’t the plan, but I needed a source of income quickly. God has given me some ideas and told me to look into freelancing. Because at the end of the day, He still wants me to focus heavily on Refined for Christ, and an in-person job wouldn’t allow that.

You can have what you want. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” If you have faith for it, God can give it to you! It can be yours as long as it’s according to His will! That is where my faith is now, believing God to use my gifts and talents to prosper me and that I will see His blessing in my life!

Don’t Be Discouraged

As a result of this past week, I’ve been fighting discouragement a lot. But God has been encouraging me the entire time, letting me know I will be okay. He was telling me that all things will work out for my good! If you’re in a spot where discouragement is coming against you, know that God is for you! God has a plan, and you’re right where He wants you. Sometimes, things don’t go as planned, but we must continually trust in God and have joy. Get excited because greater is coming. Just obey God and continue to seek His face about your next steps!

That’s what I’m doing, making sure I’m in the middle of His plan and doing what is required of me. I am still working on building up my joy and faith, but we will get there!

God is for you! If you’ve felt lost in life but want redirection, you want victory in your life, say this prayer!

“Dear Heavenly Father, I repent of my sins, turn my back to them, and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day. I accept Him into my heart now; I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart Jesus is Lord. By faith, I give Him my whole life, heart, mind, and soul. Amen!” If you said this prayer, go to the I Just Got Saved page for church recommendations, a Bible, and a journal!

I hope this helped, and God bless!
