Thank God we made it to another week! And I can say God has been very good to me, and again, He is answering prayers left and right! God has taught me a lot about faith, and we’re only growing more and more, so let’s get into it!
What God Has Taught Me About Faith: Lean on Him
Summer classes started last week. Yay! Some people wouldn’t celebrate that, but I’m happy because just a few weeks ago, I couldn’t even register for them. So, God has been good, and the workload hasn’t been too much because my classes are online. With the summer semester being summer overall, the first thing that God is teaching me is being super organized.
God has given me a list of things to do over the summer and in the upcoming fall semester. So, I’m learning how to be organized with my time and how to lean on Him. You can’t do what God has called to do without His help. We can’t do it on our own strength, and I know if I tried to do everything with my strength, I would burn out immediately.
So, here’s some advice on how to lean on God and stay more organized.
Pray and Ask Him for a Schedule
One of the things that God told me and directed me to do is to make a schedule. Making a schedule can help you allocate your time so much better rather than just doing things when you get to them. Most of the time, I’ll write down a to-list in my notes for what I will do for the day. This week, I’m making a schedule for days to make content, write, edit, and do homework so I don’t get overwhelmed. Asking God for a schedule can be a simple prayer, saying, “God, show me what to do this week and how I should organize my time,”
God gives me an answer every time, and the schedule dramatically helps me with my workload. I know as I grow my faith and career, my workload will get heavier. So, it’s good to ask now and put it into practice.
Also, asking God for supernatural energy is great! If you are someone who has a lot on their plate, you need energy! So, Who better to get energy from than the Holy Spirit? He will give you all the fuel you need to accomplish all your goals!
Cut Down Idle Time
This one, I’ll say, is still a little difficult for me because it can be so easy to get sucked into social media. However, if you want to be productive for God, idle time watching TV, scrolling on TikTok (my guilty pleasure), or Instagram, mindless conversations must come to a minimum. God has work for you and me, so we must limit those distractions. I am not saying you have to work and be productive 24/7, but schedule it in a way that doesn’t detract from your productivity. Don’t allow it to take up hours when you’re supposed to be doing something for God, whether that be work, school, praying, journalling, etc.,
I am still working on this; I will be honest with you guys. I am not perfect, and God is still working on me. My schedule and routine are something He is really working on. However, I am making minor improvements every day. Last week, I was much more productive than I was earlier in the summer, and this week, I want to increase that! Try to get better every single day, and you’ll be where you want to be in no time! So, get that schedule and stick to it, and maybe allocate some time for those other activities that don’t interfere with what God told you to do.
Praise Him!
Instead of complaining about everything I have to do, I praise Him for being able to do it! Sometimes, we can get overwhelmed and forget we have God’s help. You just need to look to Him! Psalm 121:1-2 says, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Your help comes from God! So, get into the habit of thanking Him for the help He offers.
The Holy Spirit
This leads me to another thing God taught me about faith—the importance of the Holy Spirit and how He is our helper. God gave us this amazing power through the Holy Spirit; we must use Him daily. A day doesn’t go by where I’m not asking the Holy Spirit, “What should I do?” He is our guide! He will always lead us to the right place and, most importantly, toward Jesus! So, if you’re having trouble leaning on God, start talking to the Holy Spirit. He lives in us and is here to help! Read this blog, and this blog, to learn more about the Holy Spirit.
What God Has Taught Me About Faith: Prayer and Praise Work!
I know this may be like, duh, praise and prayer work, but let me have my moment. Of course, they work, but I really saw them work this week! If your prayer life is lackluster, you need to start praising God! Prayer alone will get you nowhere if you don’t incorporate praise! This means taking Mark 11:24 seriously, which says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours,” If you believed you had it, wouldn’t you thank God? Exactly!
So, any time you’re done praying, thank God for answering your prayers! I did this last week and saw God answer my prayers so fast! For instance, I prayed for a certain amount of money, and half of that amount came in that same day. Then, later in the week, I got more than I asked for! Now, disclaimer: if you aren’t tithing, giving, and doing offerings, this will not work. Regarding finances, you must actively give tithes and offerings to ministries and give as God prompts. Otherwise, God will not bless you financially.
I’ve made a point to praise God throughout the day, and that’s what you must do to see results! Prayer and praise go together; they are not separate! There were many things I asked for that God answered either the same day, the next day, or just a few days later. It works!
What God Has Taught Me About Faith: Know the Difference Between a Spiritual Attack and Letting Go
So, I’ve been praying for someone important to my future, and last week, I learned news about them that upset me. However, it was just a test. It wasn’t to stop praying for them but to press through my fleshly feelings to yield to the Spirit. I wanted to kick this person to the curb, but God told me actually to press in for them. To pray more and speak over their life. To do that, it took humility because, in the flesh, I wanted to cut them off. However, that would be precisely what the enemy would want.
We cannot do what our flesh wants; we must yield to the Spirit. Sometimes, that means praying for someone you don’t want to and pressing in for their soul because the devil doesn’t like the progress you’ve already made in prayer.
Continue to Intercede
When these things happen, it is pivotal to inquire the Holy Spirit because He will direct us, in my case, either to continue praying or to let go. Some situations are spiritual attacks where you must lean on God and not do what your flesh wants. If I did that, I don’t know what that would mean regarding this person’s salvation. God tests you, and so does the devil; he wants you to give up; he wants to stop interceding so he can have an open claim to this person’s soul.
So, if you’re praying for a family member, spouse, or friend for their salvation, no matter what they do, don’t stop praying unless directed by God. They will come into the kingdom if you remain obedient to God’s Word. We walk by faith, not sight, so it doesn’t matter what they’re into right now. Speak the Word of God over their lives, and continue to pray for them! The prayers of the righteous availth much!
Call to Salvation
If you don’t know Jesus but want to and want to grow your relationship with Him, say this prayer. “Dear Heavenly Father, I repent of my sins and turn my back to them. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day. I accept Him into my heart now; I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart Jesus is Lord. By faith, I give Him my whole life, heart, mind, and soul. Amen!” If you said this prayer, go to the I Just Got Saved page for church recommendations, a Bible, and a journal!
God is for you, not against you! He wants the best for you and wants to spend eternity with you! So, don’t go to sleep tonight unsure. Rest your eyes and know that if you were to die today, you would go to heaven because you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior! I hope this helped, and God bless!
