Being Christ-inside-minded is being constantly aware of the presence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. As we become more aware of His presence, living like Christ and operating in our God-given authority will be easier. This is pivotal for Christians because we cannot be victorious in this life without our constant acknowledgment of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit leads us to all truth, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and power. If we live with that understanding, we no longer have to be a victim of weak and powerless Christianity. Too many Christians neglect this great power residing in them and opt for a life of defeat. Hopefully, by the end of this blog, you’ll recognize and utilize the gift of the Holy Spirit that resides in us.
Faith Only Works By Having a Christ-Inside Mindset
Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith, it is impossible to please God,” Our goal as Christians should be to please God. However, did you know it is impossible without the Holy Spirit? You cannot have faith without the Holy Spirit; therefore, you cannot please God without the Holy Spirit. Regarding everything concerning God, there is nothing we can do to please Him without His help. On our own, we are hopeless when trying to please God. Our flesh is sinful and enmity against God (Romans 8:7); therefore, we need His Spirit to guide us in the right direction.
When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we must not neglect His Spirit inside us. It is by His Spirit we can live by faith. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Christ Lives in You
Notice how it says Christ lives in me first, then you live by faith? You cannot live by faith without recognizing the Spirit of Christ that dwells in you. Having this Christ-Inside mindset is what offers you authority and power. As Christians, we have to live in a Christ-like state. We no longer live our old lives; we live as Jesus did and what He commands daily.
The first step of being Christ-Inside minded is knowing that it is not us who lives. Christ lives in us; He should be free to take over and delegate our lives. We are dead, and it is Jesus who now has control. It’s not possession, but being Christ-Inside minded is being in a place of submission where relinquishing control over Jesus is our first instinct. There is no push-back, just yes God, and allowing Him to lead.
Revealing His Spirit In Us
This is how God wanted us to live since the beginning because He knew we would mess up our lives without His guidance. If you are born-again, I’m sure you can testify that your life was a mess before coming to Christ. I know I can! I was in and out of depression, desperate for male attention, drinking and smoking, and just all over the place. However, my life has been so peaceful since I allowed Jesus to take the wheel!
Galatians 1:15-16 says, “But when it pleased God, Who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called by His grace, to reveal His Son in me.” It pleases God to reveal His Spirit in us. So, every time we recognize the Holy Spirit, have a revelation, utilize the Holy Spirit, share the Gospel, and ignite the Spirit in others, God gets excited! It delights God when we give the Holy Spirit the recognition He deserves. You cannot please God without acknowledging the Holy Spirit Who lives in you. So, if you want to please God, use the Holy Spirit because it excites God anytime we use His Spirit in this life.
Examine Your Faith
II Corinthians 13:5 says, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” You are only in faith when you recognize the Spirit of Christ lives in you and act accordingly. A lot of people live just any kind of way as “Christians” because they fail to acknowledge the Holy Spirit. Too many Christians are not living by faith because they do not realize the great power that lives in them.
The Holy Spirit is too great for people to ignore Him, yet so many do it! Don’t let that be you. To walk in true power, authority, and faith, utilize the Holy Spirit. Jesus gave us His Spirit so we can be victorious in this life, not weak. There are too many Christians living defeated lives because they don’t recognize the Holy Spirit for who He is. He is our guide in this life and our weapon that can destroy all the enemy’s power.
It is essential to be Christ-inside minded because that’s how you will overcome all the powers of darkness in this world. Without that mindset, you are losing in every kind of way. Don’t be a loser; be a winner by constantly acknowledging the divine power that Jesus gave us through His Spirit.
Being Christ-Inside Minded Keeps You Holy
Those who are not Christ-Inside minded don’t emphasize holiness. Knowing that the Holy Spirit lives in you and constantly being aware of that will keep you from sinful behavior. It will actually make you uncomfortable when in certain situations. When you first receive salvation you don’t have to be perfect, God will handle all of that. It is the Holy Spirit that changes you, not you.
You don’t have to stop drinking, smoking, fornicating, and cursing before you come to Christ, despite contrary beliefs. Jesus, through His Spirit, will get rid of those desires as you develop your relationship with Him. So don’t stress about cleaning up your life before getting right with God; just get right with God. He will do the rest. I can say that those desires for me have gone away, and I am engulfed in my relationship with God. You can’t clean up your life alone anyway, so you might as well surrender to Christ.
You Are Not Your Own
I Corinthians 6:19-20 says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” Being Christ-Inside minded is knowing that we are to glorify God with our being. We are mindful of how we conduct ourselves in our everyday lives. Meaning, we don’t act just any kind of way, we act as representatives of God.
You’ll avoid certain behaviors when you are constantly aware of His Spirit and being a temple. When we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, He owns our bodies. His blood bought us, and we honor that by living for Him. You live holy not to get a pat on the back but as an offering to God because of Jesus’ sacrifice. Remember the cross; remember He died to set you free, not so you can live in bondage. Sin is bondage. No matter how “fun” it may appear, it is a prison. You belong to Christ, and being Christ-inside minded is constantly remembering and living to that standard.
You Are Dead
Romans 8:9-11 says, “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now, if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Jesus gives us life through His Spirit. Being Christ-inside minded is recognizing that life only comes from the Spirit. Knowing we don’t have to be slaves to sin because the Spirit offers us righteousness. Too many Christians live defeated lives because they don’t realize that because the Holy Spirit lives in them, they can overcome sin and not be victim to it! They allow their temptations to overtake them and not rise above them.
Additionally, Jesus’ Spirit offers us life to our mortal bodies. So, besides being victorious over sin, we can be healthy too! We don’t have to be victims of sickness because the Holy Spirit is not sharing His vessel. Sickness and the Holy Spirit are not friends, and they are not roommates. We are His temple. Therefore, sickness and disease are not allowed! You have victory over sin, sickness, and disease because the Spirit of Christ lives in you!
Secure in Salvation
Furthermore, going off this same passage of Romans 8:9-11, you can be 100% of your salvation. Being Christ-Inside Minded allows us to know 100% without a shadow of a doubt that we are going to heaven when we die. Part of the verse says, “Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” Constantly recognizing the Holy Spirit prevents this fear of not being His. You know you are His because His Spirit lives in you.
We must be mindful of the Holy Spirit because He is our ticket to heaven. Without His indwelling presence, we don’t get to spend eternity with God. So, take time to evaluate your faith and know without a doubt that the Spirit of Christ resides in you. The Spirit of God only lives in you if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you haven’t done that and you’re unsure where you would spend eternity if you died, pray this prayer.
“Dear Heavenly Father, I repent of my sins and turn my back to them. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day. I accept Him into my heart now; I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart Jesus is Lord. By faith, I give Him my whole life, heart, mind, and soul. Amen!” If you said this prayer, go to the I Just Got Saved page for church recommendations, a Bible, and a journal!
God wants to see you prosper, and now that you’ve accepted Jesus, you have His Spirit! You can live a victorious life over sin, be greatly used by God, and give Him glory!
Being Christ-Inside Minded Means God Is Glorified Through You
Being Christ-Inside minded means knowing that it is through the body of Christ that Jesus is glorified. He receives honor and recognition through us! If we aren’t mindful of the Holy Spirit and His indwelling presence, we can steal glory from God! Only through His Spirit can we give Him the praise He deserves.
Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” Most people skip over the part that says, “according to the power that works in us,” What do you think that power is? The Holy Spirit! Ding ding ding! You are correct; that power is the Holy Spirit. God can only do exceedingly and abundantly through His Spirit that lives in us! So, to start seeing miracles in your life, you must be mindful of the Holy Spirit. You must get to know Him and how He can guide you.
Too many Christians live without the Holy Spirit, even though He can change their entire lives! They live mundane lives without utilizing the greatest gift God gave us! Don’t live like that. Use the Holy Spirit and His power every single day!
People Marvel at the Holy Spirit
II Thessalonians 1:10 says, “When He comes to be glorified in His saints and to be marveled at in all those who have believed.” Now, this verse, in particular, is about the rapture of the church, but I want to take a different spin on it. Jesus said in John 4:48, “You won’t have faith unless you see miracles and wonders!” that still stands true today. Some people will only believe in God if they see miracles. And you know how we bring about miracles? I’ll give you a hint: it starts with Holy and ends with Spirit. The Holy Spirit! Yes! Signs and wonders take place through the power of the Holy Spirit!
The manifested presence of the Holy Spirit creates an atmosphere of miracles. And that miraculous power lives in us! People will marvel at us because of the Spirit that glorifies God through signs and wonders Who lives in us! Being Christ-Inside Minded makes reaching the lost so much easier because you realize you have the power within you to help someone experience God.
You Don’t Know Love Without the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 3:17-18 says, “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height, to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” You can express genuine love with the Holy Spirit. He is the One who keeps us rooted and grounded in love. He makes it possible for us to share and extend the love of Christ to others. If you have ever wondered why people treated you a certain way, either because they had the Holy Spirit or because they didn’t,
Being mindful of the Holy Spirit allows us to act constantly from a place of love. Even when we don’t want to, the Holy Spirit reels us back and leads us toward Christ. It is pivotal that we act from a place of love because that is how people will receive the Gospel. People go through enough as it is, so let’s utilize the great love of Christ that lives in us!
God’s Plans Are Revealed Through His Spirit
Last but certainly not least, it is essential to be Christ-Inside minded because that’s how God reveals His plans. I Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” You will always be stuck if you are not mindful of the Holy Spirit! God speaks to us through His Spirit, so it is pivotal that we realize He lives in us, and we always must be open to listening.
The greatest moves in Christianity only occurred because of the Spirit! Because of people who recognized the power inside of them and listened to the “deep things of God.” If you are desperate to know God’s plans, start talking to the Holy Spirit! He will open your eyes to things that the world has never seen, that God has called you to!
It is because of His indwelling presence that we can do amazing things. We don’t have to be afraid of God’s plans because He equipped us with His Spirit. If you aren’t aware of the Holy Spirit, I doubt you’re inquiring God about His plans for you. Get in tune with the Spirit, and you will be in tune with your calling!
I hope this blog gave you more insight into the Holy Spirit! Don’t live a day without Him. I hope this helped, and God bless!
