Most Important Lessons Learned On My Faith Walk: Week 6-7

What-I-Learned-in-My-Faith-Walk-with-Jesus

God is constantly good and always shows me that He will provide! I cannot explain just how amazing God has been to me these past seven months since quitting my job. I’ve seen Him in ways that I’ve never before and experienced Him at a whole new level, so let’s get into what I learned in my faith walk with Jesus.

Two weeks ago it was my mom’s birthday and she came to Florida! It was so wonderful seeing her and honestly having her here was a blessing to me because she filled my tank multiple times and bought groceries during a week I did not have it financially. So, to God was I was grateful because as I’ve said so many times before, He is faithful and always provides for me! In this case it was through my mom and we had a wonderful time with her being here.

School Going Well

To make a long story short, I transferred to a new school two years ago, and the major I picked at my new school is restricted. So, there were a certain classes I had to take and grades I needed in those classes to be accepted into the major. Well, after this past Spring semester I am officially admitted into my major! And I couldn’t be happier because if you know me, you know that school has been an emotional rollercoaster for me. Yet, I’m finally seeing it all come together and I’m so excited that I am closer to the finish line I thought I would never see.

Last week I was able to register for my major classes, but I came across an issue when registering for my summer classes. I was able to register for my fall classes but summer registration wasn’t working. So, I went to God in prayer about it and asked that I would be able to register prior to Monday, yesterday, which is when classes started. And guess what? He answered that prayer with the quickness! I prayed that on Wednesday and I was able to register by Friday! God answers prayers quick and it reminds me of Mark 11:24 which says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Walk by Faith

When it comes to our prayer life, we must speak like it is reality because it will become our reality. Don’t go by what you see, if I did that, I probably wouldn’t be in school right now. But I pressed through and decided to walk by faith and not by sight. Sometimes all it takes is a simple choice to not be afraid anymore and just to trust God. Jeremiah 17:7 says, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him,” You can never go wrong trusting God. It is the best thing you can do actually! Your whole life can change just by trusting God and in His plan for you.

You don’t have to live in fear anymore but you can live in victory! Just give all your cares to Him. God is going to handle it all better than you ever could. So, I suggest stop worrying about it, and allow God to be God.

False Prophets

In these past two weeks, God has made me more aware of false prophets. I am currently interested in doing something for career development and the internet can be an interesting place when it comes to prophets and people that claim to hear the Holy Spirit. The steps I am taking for this career development are not something that everyone agrees with but I haven’t gotten a “No” from God or any pushback. So I am good to move forward with this opportunity. However, last week I saw a video talking about how this opportunity is demonic and it is a covenant with satan and all of that.

God told me that some false prophets will seem very convincing but that I must know the Word and know that God never instills the spirit of fear. Quite honestly after seeing this video, I was a little scared and wanted to back out even though I had already made some commitments to this opportunity. God told me to calm down and think about His word and I realized how what this “prophet” was saying went against the Word of God.

In The Last Days

The devil knows scripture too but you have to know the whole counsel of scripture. In these last days, I Timothy 4:1-2 says, “[People] will believe things that demons will teach them. Teachings like those come from liars who pretend to be what they are not.” There will be people that will straight up lie and act like it is the truth from God. However, let me tell you this, if you come across a prophet but they are fear-mongering and condemning people, that is not from God. God will convict you not condemn you. The Holy Spirit will bring encouragement, joy, and peace, and I did not feel peace after hearing that message.

Know the Word and God for yourself so you can test every spirit whether it is of God or of the devil.

Things God Told Me

During one of my walks, God told me things that allowed me to have peace in this season. First, I am going to be okay and so are you! God’s got you and He will take care of you. He never fails so you can trust Him to provide you with your everyday needs and more, just thank Him continually for being good and you will see that goodness!

God told me I need increase my expectation which I feel has been a theme with me these past couple of months. So, let’s get into how I’m actually doing that. One simple change is I’m praising God a lot more, just saying thank you God for anything I can think of, as well as what I’m expecting. For instance if there’s something I’ve asked God for in prayer, I start thanking God for answering that prayer in advance. If something good happens to me, I say thank you, God for Your favor!

Saying my morning declarations help as well increase my expectations and I will do a blog of the general ones I do so you guys can say them too! I will say doing these things has increased what I expect from God and I have seen things come to pass faster!

Patience

God told me while I’m waiting on things I am believing for, to work as if I’m already there. One of those things is growth for this blog. What that looks like is basically posting enough as if I’m already at my goals. Kind of like the phrase fake it till you make it. God is seeing if I’m diligent in the small things so He can trust me with more.

Luke 16:10 says, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” God is basically seeing if He can even trust me with a big platform on this blog? Will I give it the proper attention or neglect it? That is something I am working on now because I want this blog to grow and reach more souls and have people saved. I want to reach the lost, so I have to act now as if I already have that reach.

God has to see you are able to handle your blessing by the way you act prior to receiving it. For example, if you’re waiting for a huge financial blessing, how do you act when you receive $5? Are you grateful? Do you tithe your 50 cents? Do you ask God on how that $5 should be spent? If God sees that then He knows He can trust you with more. We have be diligent in everything we do, no matter how small.

Praise Like You Have It

Along with that is giving God praise as if you are in your promised land! Don’t wait until you receive the blessing, praise beforehand! Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

We are to go to God with thanksgiving because we to pray with the expectation that our prayers are answered! And we have peace that surpasses understanding because we know we are receiving what we prayed for! You must get into the routine of praising before you have the blessing. It increases your joy and expectation and also accelerates the blessing! Start saying thank you God for everything you’ve prayed for!

Praise brings joy and joy is an indication of how much faith you have. Examining how much joy you have will reveal how much you believe God to be faithful. Know that God is good and He will do exactly what He said. God never lets us down, it’s not in His character, He is always true to His word. You just have to believe and put action to your faith. Speak the word of God, tithe, praise, pray, share the gospel, put your faith to work! God is faithful and it will come to pass!

Don’t Fear

God told me to not fear no matter what. Fear is the thief of joy and blessing. Once you begin to fear it shows that you don’t trust God to come through. Because real faith doesn’t fear, if God is faithful what is there to be afraid of? II Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind,” Anytime you experience fear know that it isn’t from God but from the enemy. God offers us power and a sound mind. Life can look scary but we walk by faith not by sight. So, no matter what don’t look down. Look at God and His promises and know that He comes through each and every time. Have joy and know God is faithful.

Take More Time to Listen and Ask More

God told me I need to take more time to listen. A lot of the time we can be hasty and forget to sit back and listen to what God has to say. We can spend so much time in prayer asking God but did you know that listening to God is prayer as well? How would you feel if you’re having a conversation with someone and all they can do is list off what they want and never give you a chance to speak? That’s how God can feel sometimes.

So, it’s important to take a moment and pause and listen. He gives really good advice! God wants to guide us in life and lead us to the best possible outcomes. Proverbs 16:20 says, “Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.” We must heed God’s instruction if we want to prosper. So, take some time to seek out the voice of God and listen.

Nothing is Impossible

God also told me to ask more, because sometimes we don’t ask big enough. We ask for what our minds can comprehend and what could honestly be insulting to God, because He is such a big God! God wants us to ask for things on His level, things that will increase and challenge our faith. If there is no getting out of comfort zone, what are we asking for? God wants to do the impossible with us, so we must get our faith to the level where we can ask for the impossible and be unfazed because we know that all things are possible with God!

Additionally, when it comes to asking God for more, know that God isn’t limited to time. Don’t worry about the when or the how, know the what. And “the what” is God will come through and accomplish what He said! God can do whatever He wants whenever He wants, so no use of you stressing. Stay in praise and in faith, and you will have it!

Talk!

One last point, we must speak as if we are where we want to be! Talking like we are healed, rich, mentally stable, happy, joyful, and peaceful! Proverbs 13:2 says, “From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things,” Meaning, that you will have what you say and if what you say is good, you will enjoy those things. The same things go for if you say bad things, you will have those things as well. You have to be in the mindset that your words become your reality because they do. I can speak from personal experience that everything I’ve said has come to past or it will!

Mark 11:23 says, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” You will have whatever you say so you must be more careful about your words. Your words matter, so start speaking the word of God! The word of God is what will change your situation, so it pivotal that your words align with it!

A Call to Salvation

God has called you to a great purpose. He loves you want and wants the best for you. He can change your entire life through one prayer and fix every issue. If you want to grow your relationship with Jesus but never knew how, say this prayer. “Dear Heavenly Father, I repent of my sins and turn my back to them. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day. I accept Him into my heart now; I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart Jesus is Lord. By faith, I give Him my whole life, heart, mind, and soul. Amen!” If you said this prayer, go to the I Just Got Saved page for church recommendations, a Bible, and a journal!

God is for you not against you! He wants to help improve your life and most importantly He wants to spend eternity with you. If you were to die today, do you know where you would go? I would hope you said that prayer and now you’re positive you would go to heaven! Be sure of your salvation and where you’ll spend eternity. This life on earth isn’t the only life. This life continues forever and I want to see you in heaven, so make the choice to live for Jesus! It will be the best choice you could ever make! I hope this helped and God bless!
