God has grown my faith a lot these past weeks and I am so excited to share the wonderful things and testimonies! I’ve realized as I’ve been doing this and sharing my faith journey, my faith has grown and strengthen so much! I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me and Refined for Christ!
Put the Word of God Above Everything
When life hits you, you need to stand on the Word of God! Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” How you set your mind on things above is by reading God’s Word. You do this by speaking His Word and having it written on your heart. Last week I realized how important that is because when a storm comes, you need something to combat it!
Due to the situation I faced last week, if I didn’t have the Word, I would’ve failed. And honestly, that goes for all Christians, if we aren’t ultilizing the Word, we are failing. The Word is our weapon. Ephesians 6:17 says, “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,” So, when you need to fight spiritual battles, you need the Word. You are not fighting any spiritual battles with your flesh, because when you do that, you are losing! We don’t want to lose, so we must use the Word. Sometimes we don’t have an option to lose, that’s how dire our situation is.
Mindset of Winning
In life, we must have a winning mindset. That is pivotal when it comes to fighting spiritual battles. God already gave us the victory. Deuteronomy 20:4 says, “For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” The battle is not your battle, it is the Lord’s. The only thing you have to do is stand on the Word and do what God instructs you. As long as you do that, you have won! When you have a winning mindset, it eliminates fear. Fear only comes because you think it might not work out. There would be no fear if you had full trust in God and in that fact, the battle is already won!
That is something I had to tell myself when fear came, that I won and everything is working out, therefore I have no reason to fear. Psalm 56:3-4 says, “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” You put your trust in God, right? Therefore, there is nothing to be afraid and there is nothing anyone can do to you! The Most High is on your side! Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,” You are blessed! God has grown my faith through this and I constantly have to tell myself, “I’m a winner!”
Because you are blessed, you shouldn’t fear. A bless person never loses so remember that! I have to constantly remind myself of that: there is no losing when you’re with God. I submit my ways to Him, therefore I cannot fail!
How God Has Grown My Faith: He Tweaked My Faith
In the month of March, I realized I was kind of wavering! Not in terms of everything I was believing for, but yea, I was going back and forth with some things. For instance, I was believing God for a certain amount of income to come in during March, but I kept changing the amount I was believing for. And guess what, it did not come in! So, God helped me realize that I need to remain focus on one thing. Not to switch back and forth because that messes with my faith!
James 1:6-8 says, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” One thing about me, I do not want to be double minded and unstable! So, this month, I’m sticking with one amount and believing God for that to come in! I’m not switching up!
Don’t Switch Up
If you feel that you rarely see things come to pass, evaluate how stable you are in your faith. Are you always changing your confession, is what you believing for constantly changing? If that’s the case fix it fast! God is merciful and will grant you what you have faith for, but you need to remain stable. If you want the formula to unbreakable faith, do the following: Stand firm on the Word of God, don’t change your confession, praise Him for the victory, and obey Him. If you do those four things, you will see a lot more miracles take place in your life! Staying firm is so vital and I’ve seen that it changes things in my life. It has been the key to many of my breakthroughs, glory be to God!
Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” We hold fast and don’t switch up because it is God who is faithful. We aren’t relying on our strength, it’s God! That’s what makes Christianity so beautiful, is that God really goes to bat for us each and every time! That’s why we can never lose, so continue to do your part and trust, God WILL do His! You must stand firm on God’s Word and not let up no matter how terrible the situation may seem because He will come through! Matter of fact, He already created a solution!
That is why we cannot waver, because that is just allowing the enemy to steal what God has already given us! Believe the Word above everything because your life depends on it!
Continue the Good Work
I know storms can be scary, but you must continue to do what God called you to. Last week, when I believing God to come through on something, I had a thought came that “Why would I do Refined for Christ if He can’t provide my needs.” I had to rebuke that thought, because that is not what Refined for Christ is about. I do this because I have a heart for the lost, and that thought stemmed from fear. He can provide my needs and He always does, so you must clock thoughts like that!
God called you to do something great, all for a purpose. It was to bless people and benefit you! This blog has forced me to grow my faith tremendously and the purpose always was to reach the lost. So, don’t give up what you’re doing for God just because you haven’t seen something work out. It will! It’s just the devil trying to take you out of obedience. Because plenty of times, it is obedience that brings your breakthrough! Don’t give up, continue doing the work of the Lord. It has a purpose and you don’t know who you’re blessing with the work you’re doing.
How God Has Grown My Faith: Keep Your Peace
When it comes to growing your faith, the devil is gonna try to steal your joy and peace. So, you need to check that, when your joy or peace is low! Because when your joy and peace are low, it indicates that your faith needs a boost. God will never fail you, and you can rest in that fact. You don’t need to fear because you serve a mighty God. Just keep pressing forward, having peace about your situation really goes into how much you believe God’s Word.
When the devil tried to discourage me last week, I continued to say that I believe God and I believe His Word. When I would say, I would feel peace come, then joy, because I KNEW God was coming through and making a way for me! Additionally, joy and excitement are indicators that the promise is from God. If you feel happy and exciting about something working out, know it is from God! (As long as it’s in His will) And when it’s from God, it will work out!
You must know that you are already victorious. You are not trying to be victorious, you are! God has already promised us everything we need and want in His Word. So, fight the good fight of faith and don’t allow the enemy to steal what you already have! It’s already yours, he can’t steal something you don’t have. When you have discouraging thoughts just start praising God for what is yours. God is good, faithful, and He will never fail you.
How God Has Grown My Faith: Everything is a Test
Last week I went through a lot of tests when it came to my faith, but I’m grateful for them. God will use tests to see if you can handle what He is about to give you, or if you actually believe! With this blog, I talk a lot of big talk when it comes to faith, so God was testing to see if I actually believe what I’m writing about! So, last week, rent was due but I didn’t have it. I was looking at my bank account like, “God, how we gonna do this!” And He told me not to worry.
So, in that week, I have to prove to God, I believe His Word. I believe what He gives me to write for this blog, and it’s not just all talk. I’m not faking this, I’m living it! When I tell you to hold onto your confession, it’s because that’s exactly what I’m doing to get what I need! Last week, I made sure I wasn’t wavering, I was praying, praising, and standing on the Word of God. I wasn’t looking at my circumstances but looking at God! And guess what? My rent money came exactly when I need it! I did not lack! So, when I tell you it works, it’s not for encouragement. It is because I have lived it myself!
Your confession matters and it happens, so I am very careful about my words. I do not to want slip up and see my faith fail. I have unfailing faith because my faith is built on the Word of God! Anytime I post something, whether on here, social media, anywhere, I am speaking from things I’ve experienced and had to go through.
Deadlines
One of the tests that I really had to overcome was the fear of deadlines. I learned that I cannot allow deadlines to diminish my faith. That God is still faithful and His timing is always perfect. God knows what you need, He is not dumb. He is going to do exactly what He said, so it doesn’t matter what the timeline looks like. That’s how God has grown my faith, having my faith transcend deadlines!
When I put a deadline on something, I may be limiting God, because once that deadline pass, my faith dies out. How God has grown my faith is showing me that when you have faith you must be prepared to stand forever! You may not actually be standing forever but your faith must be ready to do that! That creates strong faith that can withstand any trial. So, I’ve been working on that, not looking at when things are due, but knowing that when God comes through it will be the perfect timing!
God is a Man of His word! He does not lie, so as I been saying, keep your confession. Don’t change what you’re saying because it will come to pass! God sometimes wants to see how long you will stand. It shows your faithfulness. So, let’s not give up so quickly. If you know the Word and your rights as a believer, then you’re good. God is going to do His part. Don’t limit God to deadlines, don’t limit yourself! You have the Greater One living in you, there are no limits or boundaries!
A Call to Salvation
If you want to know God and have a relationship with Him, say this prayer: “Dear Heavenly Father, I repent of my sins and turn my back to them; I believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day. I accept Him into my heart now; I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart Jesus is Lord. By faith, I give Him my whole life, heart, mind, and soul. Amen!” If you said this prayer, go to the I Just Got Saved page for church recommendations, a Bible, and a journal! I hope this helped, and God bless!
